Own Or Be Owned
To own or be owned:
That is the question.
Whether it’s wiser
to choose the fragile safety
of job and paycheck;
to be a tool of tools,
let go at hour unknown;
owned by one or some,
then rendered obsolete.
Or bravely walk the higher road
as worker-owner-citizen;
to bear new risks and duties
and dare uncertain outcome,
perhaps to reap rich fruits
and claim one’s rightful power;
to work with fellow souls and
renew the world for all.
